dancing into...

Dancing into…- ”Dancing into…” is a concept based on choreographic drawings where you through a chain of movements can follow a human body being transformed into something else. I was interested in phenomenological ideas of consciousness from a non-human perspective. The dancing into is a play with imagining how the body is transitioning into animals or objects. I came to physicalize a few of the drawings into real choreography where I made short video solos with the essence in a being in a different body and mind. (Bird-solo, horse-solo, spider-solo, cat-solo and chair-solo). (2017-2018) (spider solo) The spider solo is made with the base from how spiders are making their webs. The movement patterns in space are based on how spiders move spatially. It is the mind of the spider; making the web as an invitation for someone to get caught up in it. Dancer: Ella-My Blomdahl and Tove Hector (at the end.) Music: Needles- Sō Percussion, Matmos (horse solo) The horse solo is mainly focusing on how to imitate and move in the same way horses do. It is filmed on the volcanos at Tenerife Island and is built up to a beat of a rave sound for the surrealistic feeling of the quirky images created. Like dreaming of living as a wild horse in the free landscape. Dancer: Ella-My Blomdahl (bird solo) The bird solo is built on the stages of a bird life; from making its way out of the shell to being a developed bird flying away from its earlier habits.
